ABOUT THE ARTIST

Samyra Stuart-Altman is a Canadian artist who resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As a veterinarian, her passion for animals can be seen as a major influence in her artistic tendencies. She explores inspiration daily as her profession takes her across the country-side. From routine farm calls, to the sled dog trails of the northern Manitoba, she finds the beauty in her patients and their natural surroundings. Hence the artist's most recent endeavour: Ink, Naturally.

Samyra's most recent drawings can be found on her Etsy store, at Envy Paint and Design, Paws for Thought Pet Boutique, and Little Goat Food and Drink.

WORD FROM THE ARTIST

" I have always had a love of creating and drawing as a child, and now as an adult everything come into place. They always say everything happens for a reason, and boy has it happened. The word spread like a prairie wild fire! Between doing my own art, to opening our family owned gallery/studio. (featuring close to 50 artists) Things have been wonderful, humbled with the response from the people of our province, as well as other places around Canada.

I enjoy every minute in my studio, either teaching or creating my own masterpieces, experimenting with different mediums and techniques. Lately I have been dabbling with the idea of applying my art to old furniture with a twist. Trying to think outside of the box, and not doing the same as everyone else.

I have always enjoyed working with oils, and you may see many painting dotting around Manitoba. Maybe you will recognize, on someone’s wall, a piece that they did in my class/studio, here in Souris, Mb.

I would like to thank you so much for the opportunity to show my new pieces to you all.

Please enjoy the show here in this beautiful gallery of Wasagaming, Mb. "
